Dear fola, Your windows hosting is ready to use What happens next? Website transfer: On the date listed above we will copy your existing website files over to our brand new platform. If your website has a database we will automatically create a new one, copy across your existing tables and update connection strings with the new database details. Maintenance page: The website will not appear online whilst we are performing the transfer process. A maintenance page will appear instead, informing visitors that work is underway and it will be back up shortly. On average, we expect this page to be displayed for only around 5 minutes, although it may be longer for particularly large websites. Access locked: Additionally, you will not be able to connect to the webspace via FTP, or login to the database (if you have one) whilst we undertake the migration. DNS updates: If we control DNS for the domain then we will automatically update this to point to the new IP address. If your DNS is handled elsewhere then we will notify you of the new IP address so you can update it with your provider. Transition period: The website will remain accessible at the old IP address for a period of time, in order to allow for DNS updates and propagation. You will receive a further, final, email from us once we have completed the work. This email will let you know if any further actions are required from you (such as updating the DNS).
